Summary

Space applications are one of the most demanding electronics arenas. Satellite solutions need to be rad-hard, have a long lifetime and meet stringent power and weight requirements. This is especially true for analog electronics.

Find out how precision analog, space and space-enhanced parts make the designer’s job easier. We will check out Texas Instruments’ support and simulation environment for designing an analog front end for a precision data acquisition system.

We will delve into several design examples related to satellite health monitoring, telemetry and control:

  • Fast overcurrent event detection that creates an alert signal in under 5µs
  • Linear Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) Driver Circuit with high accuracy and stability and minimized noise emissions
  • Current measurements from very low currents of only a few microamperes up to 2 A bi-directional with better than 0.5% accuracy

Jason Clark joined TI in 1998 from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and has held multiple roles in Sales, Marketing, and Systems Engineering. Currently, Jason is the system engineering manager for TI’s Space and Avionics system team which focuses on providing system-level solutions for our customers’ most challenging problems using TI’s full component portfolio.


Michael Seidl, Systems Engineer, Systems Engineering & Marketing - Aerospace, Texas Instruments

Michael Seidl is a Systems Engineer for Aerospace Applications at Texas Instruments. He supports customers with in-depth system knowledge, combined with expertise on TI’s product offerings.

Michael has 26 years of experience in semiconductors and held positions in DSP software design, applications, product marketing, business development and system engineering.

Michael received his Dipl. Ing. (FH) degree in communication technologies from Fachhochschule Munich in Germany.
