Automotive Service-Oriented Architecture is Designed for Security

March 4, 2022
GuardKnox’s Jillian Goldberg talks about the implementation and implications of service-oriented architecture (SOA) in the automotive space.

Automotive service-oriented architecture (SOA) is designed to provide a framework for developers to create a modular, automotive software more quickly by using software and services from companies likeGuardKnox(Fig. 1). I spoke with Jillian Goldberg, VP Marketing and Industrial Relations, about the implementation and implications of SOA.

Figure 2shows a different view of where the software resides. This allows the same software to target different hardware platforms, and makes it possible to provide additional functionality in future versions.
